New cooperation with the Mark Hachem Contemporary Art Gallery & Invitation to the Summer End Open House.

We are pleased to announce that we have entered into a new cooperation with the Mark Hachem Contemporary Art Gallery. The Galerie Mark Hachem, based in Paris and branches in New York and Beirut, has managed over the last two decades of its existence to show well-known artists such as Victor Vaserely, Jesus-Rafael Soto, Dario Perez Flores and Carlos Cruz Diez and thus with to make a name for himself with a focus on kinetic art and op art. But her portfolio also includes cubists, neo-expressionists and representatives of the Ecole de Nice. Since the opening of the Beirut branch in 2010, Mark Hachem has also focused on contemporary Middle Eastern art.

From 2018 you can look forward to interesting exhibitions that will complement and enrich our own program as part of this new cooperation. To kick off this cooperation and as an appetizer, we are now pleased to be able to offer you a group exhibition with works by artists from Galerie Mark Hachem (Stefano Bombardieri, Fernando Adam, Wolfgang Stiller, Yves Hayat, Isabell Beyel) on the premises of our gallery from September 12, 2017. and artists of our gallery (Javier Bellomo, Claudia Ruíz, Monica Ferreras, Fafa, José F. Muñoz, Juan C. Alvarez, Hernán Marín, Regine Freise). We cordially invite you to a Summer End Open House, which will take place on September 12, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. We hope to be able to welcome you in large numbers to our gallery.

SIO Project
JUNE 9 - AUGUST 13, 2016

Project SIO consists of three artists who share an apartment and studio in Barcelona. The idea of a cross-generational artist collective is nothing new in art history: even with the Flemish masters, family members from different generations worked in the same studio. The difference with Project SIO is that there are no hierarchies. The different forms of expression of the three artists complement each other in a successful chemistry and thus push their differences into the background. Lautaro Saavedra's impressive, anthropomorphic, bronze animal figures harmonize with the intimate poetry of the works of Fina Oliver, who experiments with textiles in an exciting way. In addition, the pictures of Adriana Saavedra, who is influenced by Pop Art, are successfully added.

In his book About the Spiritual in Art, Kandinsky obliged artists to start the pyramid of humanity with their talent. It does exactly thatFina Oliver in her latest works. Playing with objects, sculptures and textiles, she adds spirituality to the personal worlds she has portrayed so skillfully throughout her career. Fina Oliver is a poet who does not communicate with us in words, but has found her expressiveness in her sculptures, her objects and her textile imagery. She touches us with her works and thus follows Kandinsky's call in the most exemplary way.Adriana Saavedras bold and colorful images reveal her roots in Pop Art at first glance. At the same time, the artist captivates us with her eye for minimalist abstraction and her sense of immediacy, both qualities that she developed in her early training as a photographer. Bringing a feminist perspective to pop art, Adriana explores gender roles and stereotypes by breaking down symbols into a minimalist, neutral form.Lautaro Saavedra lives between Barcelona and the sculptor's stronghold of Pietrasanta in Tuscany, where he completed his training as a sculptor and familiarized himself with the ancient technique of lost-wax casting. In the course of this process, both the model and the mold are destroyed. Lautaro's works are therefore exclusive one-offs that cannot be produced a second time. In them, he combines the perfect forms of the human body with an animal head with anatomical precision. The resulting anthropomorphic beings symbolize the tragic, humorous and sarcastic aspects of life.

The gallery Katapult shows works of the Catalan artist Lautaro,
as well as works by Adriana Saavedra and Gudrun Sallaberger-Plakolb.

Estructuras - A Colombian Art Project
8 OCTOBER - 21 NOVEMBER 2015

With Alejandro Tobón, Camilo Álvarez, Hernán Marín, José F. Muñoz and Meloquez, the project Estructuras - A Colombian Art Project brings together five outstanding representatives of a new generation of Colombian artists for the first time in Switzerland. The project is supported by the Museo de Antioquia, one of the leading art museums in Latin America.  In order to finance their trip to Switzerland, the artists organized an auction of their works in Colombia in August 2015. The auction was a complete success!

In his picturesCamilo Alvarez on the mysterious horizon in the depths of being and dives into the dark waters of the imaginary. Like a mirror, his works reflect the power of thousands of interconnected lines. Powerful and heavy forms emerge that surprise us with their lightness.Alejandro Tobon creates sculptures and architectural elements from everyday objects and brings a new aesthetic to light through their unexpected staging. He finds his inspiration in themes such as exile, violence, immigration and poverty. The central figure of these sculptural landscapes is man, embodied by the sheep, an animal laden with symbolism, whose iconography we encounter again and again in Tobón's work.Hernan Marín develops his works primarily on the basis of pencil drawings and experiments with different supports and surfaces such as steel, glass and paper. Atmospheres are created, metaphysical, changing landscapes that appear frozen in time and evoke associations with rainy days and cloud forests in the viewer.Jose Fernando Munoz creates an interface between spaces of contemporary architecture and the flood of images, advertisements, screens and cameras that populate these spaces today. Urban content blurs behind a fog or veil, approaching abstraction. The pictures ofAlvaro Meloquez conjure up the magic of colors and shapes. The colorful culture of Latin America offers him inspiration, but also the world of international fashion. Its vibrant colors bring out the essentials. The context disappears into a black background.
